Start on the dashboard
Open the dashboard, choose Manage Server, then Automations. Expand the section you want to use.
Choose the right tool
| What you want | Use |
|---|---|
| Send a reminder every 15 minutes | Auto Messages |
| Show players how long until an event starts | Countdowns |
| Save commands to reuse across features | Command Groups |
| Run a saved Command Group at a set time | Timed Commands |
| Spawn a locked crate, cargo, or custom preset | Auto Events |
Example: your Friday community event
For an event planned at 8 PM, use the same timezone throughout:
- Create a ten-minute countdown starting Friday at 7:50 PM.
- Configure the locked-crate Auto Event for Friday at 8 PM, using a location captured on your own server.
- Review both schedules and their status before enabling them.
- Test the event's spawn location in game before advertising it to players.
These are separate automations. A countdown does not start the event, and it can still announce when an Auto Event is skipped because its population requirement is not met.
If you only need a single reminder, the Timed Command example provides an alternative to a countdown.

Requirements
- Connected game server and permission to manage it.
- Premium active for premium automation modules.
- Your linked player online when using Set Location.
Check before enabling
- Confirm the selected game server and its connection.
- Check the timezone and use your intended local time.
- Review minimum population where available.
- Check Active or Paused and any displayed Next run.
- Recapture event locations after a map wipe.
Use Pause to keep a setup for later instead of deleting it.
Event feeds and related tools
Use Event Feed Settings to announce cargo, helicopters, airdrops, and Bradley activity. Choose one Discord destination for the selected Rust server and separately choose each in-game announcement and message.
These settings do not spawn events. Use Auto Events to schedule a spawn, and Event Feed Settings to announce supported activity. The Discord command for announcements is /events server:"US Main", not /events settings.
RaidLink is separate again: it watches a player's powered broadcaster and uses a shared raid-alert channel for the entire Discord community. It does not use the selected server's Event Feed destination.
For other workflows, see Random Items and Raid Link. The Admin Tools & Automation hub links to the wider server-management guides.
Troubleshooting
If a schedule does not run, check its guide's requirements and the server connection first. Use Troubleshooting for broader connection or permission problems.
